Ben Matsubu
  Classic # 1

Ben Matsubu was one of the last anglers to qualify for this season's BassMaster Classic.  Matsubu, finishing the Tour season in 27th place (two spots below the automatic qualifying position of 25th,) had to sweat out the E-50 Tour before he received his birth when anglers ahead of him in the top 25 also qualified via the E-50 Tour.  Never the less, Matsubu is in the Classic and plans to make the best of this opportunity.

While a Classic rookie, this was Matsubu's 4th year on the Pro Tour and he has fished consistently enough to qualify for the prestigious BASS E-50 Tour where he finished 39th amongst the greatest pro bass anglers in history.

June 27th (Sunday) After finishing 31st in the BASS E-50 Event at Paducah, Kentucky, Ben Matsubu  made it home to Texas for a few hectic days before heading out to North Carolina.  He is driving to pre practice at Lake Wylie.  It is 3:15 PM EST and Ben is somewhere in South Carolina.

"I'm excited, tired of driving and ready to start fishing.  I will be

able to launch tomorrow morning (June 28th.)  I don't have a lot of expectations, word is that the lake is very high and muddy.  It figures that a month from now, he lake will be drastically different, but it will be good to familiarize myself with the surroundings and to learn the different characteristics of the lake."
