ProBassAnglers.com Angler Of The Year-2008

This season's ProBassAnglers.com-Angler Of the Year Criteria will change to reflect a balance between FLW events and BASS Events.  Gone will be the weight points that an angler catches during the course of an event.  The reasons for these changes are two fold.  Number One, FLW fields have 200 anglers and co-anglers, which puts a greater strain on the fish population.  2nd, BASS tends to fish lakes with greater populations of big fish, at key big fish times of the year.

In 2008 there will be 11 BASS Elite Series events.  PBA will recognize the 11 Elite Series omitting any events that are special, limited fields events.  FLW will run a six event Pro Tour, and two 4 event FLW Series trails.  Anglers may score points in any of the events they compete in.

Criteria-

*This award will take the results from each tour's events.  The purpose is to crown the season's top angler.

*Points are given based on a pro's performance at every tour level event for 2008

*While placement at an event is considered, pounds of bass caught, number of bass caught will carry an additional point value.

*Points are award based on two categories:

Place Points Based on finishing in the top 15% of the announced field size. (new for 2008)

-A 100 angler field, as in the BASS Elite Series.

-A 200 angler field, as in the FLW events:

    Weight Points (38.12=38.12 pts.)

Fish Points (each fish caught = 3 pts.)

The angler with the highest amount of points after the season's final event will be crowned PBA-AOY and we will have a unified Angler Of The Year.
