1-26-05

I am going to roll all three days into one here, it has been a stressful week.  On the first day of pre fish, I ran down to Kissimmee and blew my motor. This is an angler's worst nightmare because this represents a major engine problem.  By some small miracle, I was able to get back to the launch ramp and Yamaha did have a new power head for me, but it meant losing the first day of pre fish, and not having a boat for the second day of pre fish.  Feeling pretty low.

Greg Gutierrez is a fellow Northern Californian and he was nice enough to let me go out with him on day two of pre fish, as my boat was being repaired.  We caught a few fish, but it really is Greg's water.

Yesterday I went out with my repaired motor and kind of bumped around but I really didn't do very well. My spirits are down, I really have nothing to go to.  What I will do is decide on an area, I have a couple in mind, and just go fish it as thoroughly as possible, make my refinements as I go, and hope for the best.  This is about as blind as I have ever fished a pro event.

1-27-05 Day One- I am happy with my day today.  I didn't have a bite until after 2:00 PM.  Then I caught two three pounders in less than 10 minutes.  I think I am starting to figure out what is happening.  I fished in an area I found during pre fish.  There are some good fish here and I think I can catch a real good bag if the water stays calm and the wind doesn't blow.  I am starting to feel good about my water.
