The following press conference took place Friday morning, April 14th at 9:00 AM pst, The text of the press conference was included in a hand out to all who attended the press conference and was intended to be printed in it's entirety.

ProBassAnglers.com accepts fully, the opinions expressed here, on account that they are the opinions of our Ultimate Universal Visionary, and while we may not agree with him, he is our boss, and we do like to eat, so what choice do we have?

The topic of today's press conference is an apparent violation of Bassmaster Rule 13 in which Brushpile author, Keith Nighswonger has apparently committed some rule infraction, as reported by BassFan in this morning's Dock Talk.

The following transcript is a prepared statement from The Ultimate Universal Visionary of ProBassAnglers.com.

UUV-Thank you all for coming today on such short notice.

It has been brought to my attention that our very own Brushpile columnist, Keith Nighswonger has been accused of violating Rule number 13 in the Bassmaster Rule Book of planting his Brushpiles in various locations.  Let me just assure everyone that the Brushpile is the editorial property of ProBassAnglers.com and is not to be planted anywhere except for this URL or in places that have expressively received permission to publish the Brushpile.  ProBassAnglers.com has a Policy  about our editorial content which can be purchased if a web site, like, say for example, FLWoutdoors.com would like to publish it.  Other than that, Nighswonger is strictly forbidden from planting his Brushpiles anywhere.

BassFan.com's crack investigative reporting team brought these alleged rule infractions to the forefront in this morning's Dock Talk national web column  Our wonderful sport of bass fishing must be policed, it's values protected, it's integrity uncompromised.  I would like to again congratulate BassFan.com for uncovering this "alleged rules infraction," and I promise to get to the bottom of this right away.  Before he leaves for his Easter Holiday, Brushpile columnist, Keith Nighswonger will be undergoing a lie detector test, which he must pass to keep from being suspended without pay for two weeks, as per company policy.  He must also at that time take and successfully pass a drug test for steroids, as that is also company policy.

In light of the recent disqualifications at the BASS event at Santee Cooper, ProBassAnglers.com is shocked and embarrassed that one of our own editorial staff is being looked at for violating Bass fishing's sacred rules.  When results of his lie detector test are completed, I assure you that we will be forthright with the results, plus, we have had this lie detector sitting around the office for a long time, and we are very excited to have a chance to finally use it .

Thank you for your time today.  No questions please.
