ProBassAnglers.com accepts fully, the opinions expressed here, on account that they are the opinions of our Ultimate Universal Visionary, and while we may not agree with him, he is our boss, and we do like to eat, so what choice do we have?

The topic of today's press conference is the announcement of the new ProBassAnglers.com "POLECAT" CO-Angler Tour

The following transcript is a prepared statement from The Universal Visionary of ProBassAnglers.com.

UV-Thank you all for coming today on such short notice.

We at ProBassAnglers.com have been monitoring for some time, with great interest, the growing number of fans in this country who want more coverage of co-anglers in bass tournaments.  It is our opinion that these "forgotten anglers" actually represent the true talent in professional fishing today.  Anybody can drive around the country in a fancy rig, wrapped with some corporate logo, drop their boat in the water and go fishing.  The "so-called pro," only has to worry about himself, his water, his lures, his sandwich, his tackle and so on.  The co-anglers are the ones who truly must adjust to the fishing conditions, why in any given tournament, the co-angler could be paired with a flipper on day one, a spooner on day two, a cranker on day 3 and a carolina rigger on day 4.  Talk about a tough adjustment.

The co-angler doesn't have the luxury of two giant rod lockers and virtually endless storage space that the "so-called pro" has.  Yes, we at ProBassAnglers.com recognize the plight of the co-angler which is why I am happy to announce the first ever co-angler professional tour.  The following components will make up the POLECAT, (Probassanglers.com-Origninal League of EliteCoAnglersTour)

  • Co-anglers will be chauffeured around the tournament lake by people who actually own boats, going anywhere the co-angler demands.  In the event that a Co-angler doesn't have a clue, the boater will be expected to "know what to do!"
  • Co-anglers are not in anyway responsible for map study, fish finding or pre fishing.  That will be the responsibility of the boater.  Doing tackle, lake research and boat preparation takes away valuable "lounge time" from the Co-anglers who should be allowed to hang out in the hotel bar at night, so that they can swap boater horror stories.
  • Co-anglers are allowed unlimited sniveling, whining and complaining AND MAY NOT be dropped off on some remote sand bar way up a river system.
  • Co-anglers will pay a minimum entry fee of a $300.00 and are not expected to help off set the costs incurred by the boaters.
  • Boaters will pay an entry fee of $5,000 per event for the privilege of serving as a "boat caddy," to these "professionalest of the professionals."
  • Boaters are expected to duck, should the Co-angler want to cast to a target that is ahead of the boat.

We will be announcing more rules in the future, and our schedule should be finalized within the next month.

I am happy at this time to announce several of our presenting sponsors for this tour.  Please help us welcome Pampers Diapers, Gerber's BABY Food, and The California Dairy Council which provides the Cheese to go with YOUR WHINE!

Always on the leading edge of professional bass fishing, we at ProBassAnglers.com believe that the Co-Angler is the key to the future of this sport.
