Keith
Nighswonger's Brush Pile
Keith Nighswonger IS THE Self-Proclaimed Commissioner Of
Professional Bass Fishing. (How is that for
arrogance?!?!)
The Brush Pile: It's The Hot Stove
League Of Professional Bass Fishing. The Brush Pile is an up
to the minute rendering of what I know about the bass fishing
world, (no jokes, please.) Whether its a live update from
one of our pro correspondents or just something that I came
across. If it is something that I think you will find interesting,
you will find it here.....in the Brush Pile.
Those who have followed the Brush Pile for a
while have noticed the change in tone of this column. The
author is experiencing his own, personal Renaissance. Once
writing solely for the pure love of fishing, the Brush Pile has
evolved, so to speak, into a fan's perspective, (this fan,) of
what is right and what is wrong with professional bass fishing
today.
With my unique forum, I have the privilege
and the responsibility to write the things, that many insiders in
the world of Bass Fishing want you to know, but couldn't dare say
themselves. I write the truth as I understand it, and my
approach is such, based on the available information. Right
or wrong, the Brush Pile is opinion, love it or hate it, just make
sure not to miss it. To Read Click

Our most requested column, this side of the BrushPile,
ProTourJournal gives you insight into how the pros make the
decisions that they make, day in and day out. Over the
years, ProBassAnglers.com has been in the right place at the right
time. In 2003, Mike Iaconelli kept a journal for us during
his Classic Victory, in 2004 Brent Ehrler kept a journal for us
during his EverStart Championship victory and in 2005, Kelly
Jordon kept a journal during his Santee Cooper BASS Tour
Victory. Tons of good reading, tons of good insight.
Enjoy.

Most
people know Johnny A as a hard-headed, hard driving, "shoot
from the hip," no-nonsense, Mike Iaconelli Apologist.
Hey, who said he is apologizing? The truth is, Johnny A
calls it like he sees it, and that often is enough to topple the
apple cart, ruffle the feathers, steam up the Ray-Bans and lure
you into the trap he sets.
Raw, savage, cut throat, terms that come to
mind when I read the columns he sends me. "Edgy,"
like a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs. What
I appreciate the most about Johnny A is that he is right most of
the time. Oh he may hurt your feelings, but after you are
through feeling sorry for yourself, you do come to understand that
what he speaks is the truth.
Johnny A's Chainsaw Rumble is not for the
faint of heart. It does however, remove the fluff, it
does eliminate the company line and it does shoot straight.
You won't find any "parsley" on this guy's plate.

Prop
Wash is a term used to describe the unsettled air directly behind
an airplane's propellers, there are many laws of physics at work
in an airplane's prop wash. Bass anglers have their own
version of prop wash as well. It is the torrent of rushing
water left in the path of an outboard motor's propeller.
Prop wash is unpredictable, unstable, wild,
wooly and out of control.
David Taylor is an East Texan, a sub-species
of your typical Texan which means he is especially prone to
calling it as he sees it. As such he is entitled to
his own opinion and you are entitled to it as well.
Sort of like "Hog Wash," or
"Bolder Dash," but you better not back off the throttle
too fast, or you'll find yourself swimming in your own PropWash!

The
Universal Visionary, what more can we say? His position
as the leader of ProBassAnglers.com makes him a figure worthy
of writing editorial. Now, whether or not he is worthy
of us reading what he has to say is another matter. The
Universal Visionary is the product of numerous bass fishing
personalities being thrown together in a big old blender and
well, you get the idea. Still, he is our boss, and you
know what they say. "You can't chews your boss,
'cause that would be cannibalism, and cannibalism is illegal
in California.

Kennedy Wins PBA-AOY Going Away!
The three tour pro, finally put the finishing touches
on a tremendous season of professional bass fishing.
Taking time to go home for a grand total of about two weeks
during the season, Kennedy logged a lot of miles, out
distancing Kevin VanDam by 202.05 pts.
While the margin of victory, 202.05, may
seem like a large margin, Kennedy actually trailed VanDam
by 25.05 going into the final two FLW Series
events. Kennedy's two strong finishes (7th at Lake Of
the Ozarks, and 24th at Smith,) secured the season long
points race for the Alabama pro.
